Grand Trunk Goods Double Hammock Review

The summer is a time to get outside, pack light, and have new adventures.

I don't know about you, but for me, I like to hike to somewhere secluded from everyone and relax.

Chairs and stools are bulky and overrated, unless they are tree chairs of course, and laying on the ground is not the greatest, but a hammock on the other hand is perfect for chillaxing, as long as there is something to hang it on.

While I fell in love with my Eagles Nest Outfitters Doublenest a few years ago, I "cheated" on ENO with my newest love, the Grand Trunk Goods Double Hammock.

At first I thought this hammock would be exactly the same as my ENO hammock, but I found there are minor details in the design of the Grand Trunk Goods hammock that made big differences to me.

For one, instead of having to buy straps in addition to the hammock, rope was included in the stuff sack. No more forgetting my straps at home or loosing slap-strap bags.

Yes, the rope that is used to connect the hammock to whatever you want to hang from is shorter than the ENO Slap-Straps, but the rope is lighter and easily fits inside the attached compression stuff sack. Plus if you want longer lines, just buy some rope! (rope that will hold your weight of course)

What the ropes lack in length (about 4 feet) they make up for in customization. As long as you know how to tie a simple knot you can place your carabiner anywhere along the ropes.

Another small, but helpful, design is where the cinch cord is placed on the stuff sack. On my ENO hammock I am not able to close the stuff sack when the hammock is out. On the Grand Trunk Goods hammock, I am able to close the sack when it is out. Like I said, it is not a big deal but no more stuff falling out of the bag when flipping the hammock over.

All in all, the Grand Trunk Goods Double Hammock is a better buy if not a better product than other hammocks. It is lighter, bigger, more compact when packed in the stuff sack, easier to adjust, and most importantly, cheaper than competitors!

If you have been considering buying a new hammock but have not found the right one, look no further. For $64.99 you can have your own Grand Trunk Goods Double Hammock with rope included. Unless of course you want to spend more money for basically the same product with the brand name "ENO" on it ($69.99 for hammock plus $19.95 - 24.95 for straps).

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received a Grand Trunk Goods Double Hammock for free from Grand Trunk Goods as coordinated by Deep Creek PR an Outdoor Industry Public Relations Company in consideration for review publication.
